The Rally in the Valley 2017 

The Temecula Lions Club will be hosting their 2nd Annual “The Rally in the Valley” on Saturday, October 7th.  It is a timed scavenger hunt/road rally throughout Temecula, Murrieta, Wildomar and Lake Elsinore with an opportunity for the winning team to drive away with $1000 cash.  The “Rally” will begin outside the Promenade Mall at 9:00 am with a continental breakfast.  Right before you depart you will be provided a series of “pit stops” you will have to make along the way  and you must complete as many as possible within a four-hour time limit.  The team with the most correctly completed pit stops will win.  At the completion of the Rally, a box lunch by Which Wich will be provided.

Cash prizes will be awarded as follows:  First Place – $1000 cash; Second Place – $500 cash; Third Place – $250 cash; and Fourth Place – entry into The Rally in the Valley 2018.

Prevent Blindness, Saving Sight for Millions of People Around the World

For nearly 100 years, our members have worked on projects designed to prevent blindness, restore eyesight and improve eye health and eye care for hundreds of millions of people worldwide. Lions volunteer to take part in sight projects that have:

  • Saved the sight of more than 15 million children by providing eye screenings, glasses and other treatments through Sight for Kids.
  • Established or strengthened pediatric eye care centers that have helped more than 120 million children.
  • Helped halt the spread of trachoma in Ethiopia by providing 10 million doses of the sight-saving drug azithromycin annually.
  • Prevented serious vision loss for more than 30 million people worldwide.
  • Improved eye care for 100 million people by training more than 650,000 eye care professionals and building 315 eye hospitals.
  • Distributed more than 147 million treatments for river blindness.
  • Provided nearly 8 million cataract surgeries.
  • Vaccinated 41 million children in Africa against measles – a leading cause of childhood blindness.

Since 1990, Lions have raised US$415 million through two Sight First fundraising campaigns to help provide vision for all.
Our meeting date will not be May 4 due to the convention and a few members not being able to be in 2 places at one time. Our May meeting will be held at the Corner Bakery on May 11. Same time
